Mediterranean coast base with Kaleiçi's Ottoman streets and Aspendos's Roman theatre nearby.
Antalya is the canonical Turkish Riviera city — a Mediterranean coast port with Kaleiçi (the walled old town) as the historical core, Hadrian's Gate and the Yivli Minare at the centre, and dramatic Taurus Mountains backing the coast. The city's main draw is the combination of warm-water Mediterranean swimming + Roman antiquity at Aspendos and Perge nearby + ancient Lycian and Pamphylian ruins along the coast. Two to three nights is the right scale.
