A medieval university town with two main squares and one famous cheese.
Olomouc is a small Moravian university city built around the UNESCO-listed Holy Trinity Column (the Czech Republic's largest Baroque sculptural group) and one of Europe's better-preserved medieval squares. One to two nights is the right scale — long enough to wander the squares, climb the cathedral hill, and try the genuinely strange Olomoucké tvarůžky cheese; short enough that the town doesn't repeat.
